Drove Macy’s most profitable business as they became #1 in US.
After going through Macy’s Executive Training Program, Tané worked in their various categories from fashion to furniture to product development, and even as store manager.
She was awarded many distinctions, including, best buyer of the year, fastest growing business in the company, and most profitable business in the company. She developed a reputation for being able to turn around any business.
But there were turbulent times during her tenure at Macy’s. The company went through 5 mergers, 2 bankruptcies, and a leverage buyout. They rode the wave from $3B to $18B and swiftly acquired department stores across the country.
Those experiences helped sharpen Tané’s skills to gracefully navigate change, ambiguity, and transformation.

Our strategic reset doubled Patagonia's retail business.
After a decade at Macy’s, Tané wanted to find a company that would allow her to blend her personal passion with her work passion.
Since she was rock climbing in her spare time, she thought Patagonia would be the perfect next move. She spent the next decade as their head of retail business.
When she started, Patagonia had 3 channels of distribution: B2B wholesale, B2C catalog, and 12 retail stores (it was pre-online shopping).
Under Tané’s direction, they looked at people, redefined their purpose, cut 40% of their assortment and reallocated the dollars to faster turning products, which made customers happy. They brought in experts to train them on the systems and created playbooks for how to operate. And they created weekly inventory and sales reports to give a true understanding of what customers wanted. They were diligent. They were determined. And they grew the retail business from $18M to $50M in 6 years. The business was profitable for the first time since they started their retail division. This led the way for Patagonia to create a profitable retail footprint of over 100 stores globally.

Built a bold reset to turn TOMS around.
After 5 consecutive years of declining revenue, TOMS hired Tané as their fractional CMO. Under Tané’s leadership, the brand embarked on a bold reset to reignite growth. They reframed the market narrative, sharpened their value proposition, and aligned go-to-market initiatives around their audiences’ needs.
Simultaneously, they reshaped the internal marketing organization by investing in talent, elevating high performers, and establishing new rhythms of feedback, recognition, and development.
Within months, leading indicators showed unmistakable momentum, with 85+% of key marketing measures moving positively for the first time in years. Brand energy returned, teams became more connected and committed, and the organization regained confidence.
The turnaround demonstrated how clarity of strategy, disciplined execution, and a people-first culture can transform performance, even in a highly competitive category.

Pioneered UGG extensions to put the shoe on the other foot.
One of Tané’s greatest professional achievements was pioneering the UGG brand extension into home and loungewear. That strategic shift propelled UGG from an $800M shoe company into a $2B global lifestyle brand. Their lifestyle products achieved #1 bestseller position for 3-consectutive years at Nordstrom.
As well, Tané transformed and centralized UGG’s global retail and eCommerce into global DTC, in partnership with the company’s President. They grew DTC by 77% by the 3rd year and from 25% to 34% for total company.
